LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell Sports Properties and Sunbury Broadcasting Corporation have announced a continuation of their radio rights agreement that keeps Eagle 107 (WEGH 107.3 FM) as the flagship station for Bucknell football and men’s basketball games.

Eagle 107 has been the home of Bison football and basketball games since 2005, and the station will continue to carry all regular season and postseason contests, including pre- and post-game shows. Doug Birdsong, the “Voice of the Bison,” will be entering his 18th season as lead play-by-play announcer.

“We strive to align great partnerships for Bucknell Athletics and Bison fans, and for over a decade now, Eagle 107 has proven to be an excellent example of this,” said Mike Trudnak, general manager for Learfield’s Bucknell Sports Properties. “We’re excited to continue hearing quality broadcasts from Sunbury and look forward to an exciting 2017-18 collegiate athletic season.”

“Sunbury Broadcasting Corporation is thrilled to be extending our relationship with Bucknell University Athletics,” said Drew Kelly, vice president of programming. “Bucknell basketball and football have provided some of the most exciting and compelling sports moments at their respective divisions in the commonwealth, and we’re extremely proud that they will continue to find a broadcast home on Eagle 107.”

Based in Sunbury, Pa., Eagle 107 is one of the most popular FM stations in the Central Susquehanna Valley. In addition to Eagle 107, Sunbury Broadcasting Corporation also operates Newsradio 1070 WKOK-AM, Talk Radio 1380 WMLP-AM, WQKX-FM 94.1, and “The Valley” WVLY-FM 100.9.

Bucknell games will also continue to stream online at BucknellBison.com, as well as through the official Bucknell Athletics mobile app, available in Apple and Android marketplaces.

The first Bucknell game to appear on Eagle 107 in 2017-18 will be the football team’s season opener at home against Marist on Sept. 2. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m., with the pregame show starting at 5:30 p.m.

Learfield’s Bucknell Sports Properties manages all aspects of the rights relationship, providing corporate partners distinct opportunities with the Bison in which to bolster their own brand and garner maximum exposure through inventory such as venue signage; event sponsorships and promotion; hospitality; television; digital engagement and visibility via the official athletics website; and radio game broadcasts. In addition to Bucknell, Learfield manages the multimedia rights and sponsorship initiatives for nearly 130 collegiate institutions, conferences and arenas nationwide.

Bucknell sponsors 27 Division I varsity athletics programs and is a charter member of the Patriot League. With a clear focus on producing true scholar-athletes, Bucknell annually ranks among the national leaders in student-athlete graduation rates and number of Academic All-Americans.
