DECATUR, IL – The University of Illinois football and men’s basketball radio broadcasts will continue to be heard in Macon County on WSOY-AM 1340 and 103.3 FM. In a joint announcement between Neuhoff Media and Fighting Illini Sports Properties, the agreement with Neuhoff for WSOY extends the partnership to 2021.

“We are thrilled to continue offering Fighting Illini radio broadcasts on WSOY, says Program Director Jeff Daly. “Our history together goes back to the 1940’s when Merrill Lindsay would originate broadcast coverage of the Illini from Champaign. In later years Sid Rotz was Decatur’s “Voice of the Illini” and now Brian Barnhart calls the games” added Daly.

“Neuhoff Media has been a terrific radio partner, and we look forward to extending our relationship,” said Luke Reiff, general manager for Learfield’s Fighting Illini Sports Properties, the university’s athletics multimedia rights holder. “WSOY-AM has been a long-time Fighting Illini Network affiliate and Illini football and men’s basketball game and coaches’ show broadcasts will continue to be heard on 1340 AM and 103.3 FM “The Voice Of Decatur” for at least four more years.”

In addition to the radio broadcasts, Neuhoff Media offers comprehensive Illini coverage on NowDecatur.com plus daily insight from Mark Tupper during the Byers & Co morning show on WSOY.

The 2017-18 season will kick-off with the Illini playing host to Ball State University on Saturday, September 2 at Memorial Stadium.
