“Our entire team at EyeZone is honored to sponsor this promotion and to provide a great game day experience for some well-deserving military heroes,” said Dr. Daniel Rowan. “We’re grateful for the sacrifices made by members of our armed forces and look forward to seeing some of them be recognized for their service at Wolf Pack games this year.”

At the Wolf Pack’s football home opener against Cal Poly on Friday, Sept. 2, retired Sergeant Kyle Fleming was the serviceman honored as “Military Hero of the Game”. Sgt. Fleming grew up in Reno and enlisted in the U.S. Army in response to the attacks on 9/11. He served five years as a paratrooper in the 173rd Airborne Brigade and spent half his time in Afghanistan. Upon completion of his service, he returned to Reno to earn a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Affairs from the University of Nevada. Still wanting to serve his country, Fleming went to graduate school at the University of Denver, where he recently earned a master’s degree in International Security with an emphasis in Intelligence. He also earned a graduate certificate on Homeland Security.

The EyeZone Nevada relationship was secured by the university’s athletics multimedia rights holder, Learfield’s Wolf Pack Sports Properties, which works closely with Dr. Daniel Rowan and Dr. Mark Michitsch to elevate their visibility and branding opportunity with fans.
