SAN MARCOS, Texas – Native Texan Bucky Lamb has been named general manager for Learfield’s Texas State Sports Properties team. Learfield is the university’s athletics multimedia rights holder, and the San Marcos team is solely dedicated to representing the Bobcats.

Bucky Lamb 2016Lamb, a sales and marketing veteran with more than 20 years of experience, most recently served as chief executive officer for Rodeo Austin. During his 16 year-stint with the Rodeo, he oversaw implementation of new technology, overall event growth and scholarship increases. He is an Austin native with deep Texas ties and received his undergraduate and master’s degrees from Texas A&M University. Lamb also served nearly eight years on the Austin Sports Commission’s board of directors and served six years as division manager for the San Antonio Livestock Exposition.

At Texas State Sports Properties, Lamb will lead all aspects of the extensive rights relationship between Learfield and the Bobcats including signage, sponsorships, corporate hospitality, event marketing, radio, television and digital opportunities via txstatebobcats.com. Additionally, he will work alongside Director of Athletics Dr. Larry Teis, Associate Athletic Director for External Operations Don Coryell, and the university athletic department to align initiatives in building the Bobcats brand locally, regionally and nationally.
