HANOVER, N.H. — Dartmouth College and its athletics multimedia rights holder, Learfield’s Big Green Sports Properties, announced today that all men’s and women’s basketball home games for the next three years will be broadcast live on KOOL 93.9/96.3 FM.

On the heels of last month’s announcement that Kool would be home to dedicated basketball broadcasts for the first time in recent years, Big Green fans in Vermont and New Hampshire now can look forward to hearing home games on one of the respective radio stations. The women’s team opens at home on Nov. 11 at 7:30 p.m. against Central Connecticut State, and the men’s home opener will be four days later on Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. against Fairfield. Full schedules for both teams can be found on the official athletics website, DartmouthSports.com.

Additionally, Brett Franklin and Jill Glessner will bring Big Green game action to fans over the airwaves all season as the pair was named the broadcast team for the Dartmouth Basketball Radio Network. Franklin, who has been covering sports in Northern New England since 2012, has broadcast hundreds of local high school football and basketball games locally for ESPN Radio and previously served as the Dartmouth College women’s basketball play-by-play broadcaster for 2012-15. For his work as the “Voice of Curry College Football” at his alma mater, Franklin was honored by Associated Press as Best College Radio Sports Play-by-Play for Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Glessner, a former stand-out basketball student-athlete for the Loyola Greyhounds, most recently was a member of the Northeastern Huskies’ women’s basketball coaching staff following four seasons serving as an assistant coach for her alma mater. During her four years playing for Loyola, she helped the team reach the 2006 MAAC title game and the conference semifinals in 2007. Following her collegiate career, during which she earned First-Team All-MAAC honors in her senior year, Glessner played three years of professional basketball in Europe.

Dartmouth (640x396)“The renewed excitement surrounding the upcoming Big Green basketball seasons along with an outstanding broadcast team led by Brett and Jill, and of course, the return to live radio, we can’t wait for the season to begin,” said Ed Chamberlain, general manager for Big Green Sports Properties, Learfield’s local team that works alongside the athletics administration and oversees all radio initiatives.

“I am thrilled to be working with Jill on the new Dartmouth Basketball Radio Network,” said Franklin. “Jill’s background as a former Division I basketball player and coach will bring insight and passion to Big Green basketball that fans will appreciate. I cannot wait for the season to begin!”
