Mississippi State becomes StubHub’s fifth SEC property in its collegiate portfolio

SAN FRANCISCO –
StubHub, the world’s largest ticket marketplace, has signed a multi-year agreement with Mississippi State University, in which it will become the official ticket resale marketplace of the Bulldogs. The agreement is in partnership with Spectra Ticketing & Fan Engagement, provider of integrated ticketing and marketing services and Learfield, the university’s athletics multimedia rights partner.

“Mississippi State Athletics is pleased to provide Bulldog fans with an advanced — and secure — ticketing platform as a result of its relationships with StubHub and Spectra,” said Scott Wetherbee, Senior Associate AD for External Affairs. “We know providing a trusted destination for both buying and selling tickets is an important service for our fans.”

Through StubHub’s strategic partnership integration with industry-leader Spectra Ticketing & Fan Engagement, Mississippi State University season ticket holders will access StubHub as the official ticket marketplace of the Bulldogs. The service is a fully-integrated ticketing platform, which allows for season- and single-game ticket holders the opportunity to resell tickets with confidence and ease on the world’s largest ticket marketplace, while also providing buyers a complete experience, with instant tickets via mobile delivery or print-at-home.

“In cooperation with Learfield and Spectra Ticketing & Fan Engagement, StubHub is proud to partner with Mississippi State University, one of the most vibrant and successful athletic programs in all of college sports,” said Brian O’Malley, sr. manager, business development, StubHub. “StubHub has built its business to provide the best possible experience for fans, and we know it all starts with a seamless ticket transaction. We are thrilled to offer Bulldog fans our secure and streamlined platform, making it easier than ever to buy and sell tickets on the go, and ultimately, get into the big game.”

In addition to the ticketing integration, StubHub will receive a portfolio of sponsorship and marketing assets, including social collaborations, plus digital and in-venue advertising and promotions at football and basketball games, which includes StubHub’s signature “Move of the Game,” wherein a Bulldogs season ticket holder is surprised with upgraded premium seats at an athletic event. The sponsorship and marketing rights are managed by Learfield’s Bulldog Sports Properties, the multimedia rights holder and sports marketing arm for Mississippi State Athletics.

“StubHub remains a great partner to us, and a company that continues to evolve and grow in the collegiate footprint,” said Learfield Executive Vice President, National Sales Roy Seinfeld. “We’re glad to have them now representing our partner, Mississippi State, and the passionate Bulldog fan base.”

Mississippi State University joins four other SEC schools in the StubHub portfolio; Louisiana State University (2015), University of Georgia (2013), Auburn University (2012) and University of Alabama (2012).
