FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno State alum Mike Maiorana recently was promoted to general manager for Learfield Sports’ Bulldog Sports Properties, the university’s long-time exclusive athletic multimedia rights partner.

mike mMaiorana most recently served two years as Bulldog Sports Properties’ senior account executive. He has long been associated with the Fresno market, including holding front office positions with the Fresno Grizzlies, Triple-A affiliate of MLB’s Houston Astros. During his stint with the organization, he was team executive vice president and before that, vice president of corporate sales and marketing. Prior to joining Learfield in 2013, he also worked for Fresno’s Jeffrey Scott Agency and Archer & Hound Advertising and also started his own Wheelhouse Sports Marketing.

Maiorana leads every aspect of the extensive rights relationship between Learfield and Fresno State Athletics, which includes signage, sponsorships, corporate hospitality, event marketing, play-by-play radio, television and radio coaches’ shows, and digital opportunities via GoBulldogs.com. Additionally, he will work alongside Director of Athletics Jim Bartko and the university athletic department to align initiatives in building the Bulldogs’ brand locally, regionally and nationally.

“We are pleased that Mike will take over the GM role and lead the Bulldog Sports Properties staff. Mike has been in the Fresno market for many years and will be able to use that insight to raise the bar and continue to promote and enhance Fresno State Athletics,” said Senior Associate Athletics Director Paul Ladwig.

“Mike’s affinity with Fresno State, coupled with his business acumen and experience, allow for him to move into this role with ease, and we know he’ll do a terrific job navigating our relationship with the university as we continue building the brand,” said Learfield Vice President Mike McCollum.
