PLANO, Texas – Following three consecutive years of steady growth, creativity and innovation from its digital team, Learfield Sports promotes Katie Davison from Senior Director/General Manager of Digital Media to Vice President, Digital Operations. In as many years, she and Senior Vice President/Chief Content Officer Joe Ferreira have driven Learfield Digital into a formidable area of the company, which represents more than 120 collegiate properties nationwide.

Katie--DavisonDavison has been integral in every aspect of the department’s growth, particularly in the creation of new digital business and technology solutions including development and oversight of its Preferred Solutions Provider program – a distinct collection of select, vetted technology partners including Phizzle, Think Social, LiveU and YinzCam. Additionally, Davison oversees a growing digital staff and is instrumental in facilitating growth and integration with SIDEARM Sports. She was key in the transition when Learfield acquired SIDEARM a year and a half ago and since that time, nearly 25 Learfield university partners have transitioned their digital business to SIDEARM’s platform.

Over the last year, Davison has built Learfield’s newly formed ad operations group that is focused on high performance for Learfield’s partners and is continually focused on the roll out of new digital solutions. She joined Learfield in August 2012 from Midtown Manhattan, where she served three years as Senior Digital Program Manager for Madison Square Garden’s in-house interactive division (MSGi) overseeing key strategic digital initiatives. Prior to that, she was with boutique technology firm Canvas (formerly Interactive Partners), in SoHo in New York City. Davison started her digital career over 10 years ago with Gray Digital Group in San Antonio, Texas following graduation from Trinity University.

“Katie brings incredible industry knowledge, experience, execution and dedication to her work and to Learfield, in addition to providing solid leadership of the digital team,” said Ferreira. “She continually exceeds expectations, and is truly deserving of this promotion. We’re extremely fortunate to have her at Learfield.”

Davison commented, “I’m proud to be a part of the innovation behind our digital team from the ground up and look forward to new milestones at every turn. As the digital landscape continues to evolve, we have to be ready and in a position to best lead and direct our college partners.”
