Installation of new HD video and ribbon boards at Bulldog Stadium represent the first phase of upgrades to the stadium

FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno State Director of Athletics Jim Bartko announced Thursday that Bulldog Stadium will be receiving a new $892k high definition LED video and ribbon boards that will be installed in time for the 2015 season.

ANC Sports Enterprises, LLC will be in charge of the design, construction and installation of the new video and ribbon boards for the north end zone. The enhancements to Bulldog Stadium represent the first phase of upgrades to the facility that was built in 1980. This is first step in addressing areas covered in Bartko’s five-point plan and he will deliver further information on that outline at a major press conference held with the media at the end of the month.

“In moving forward with implementing the five-point plan, this new HD video board and ribbon board will produce a better fan experience in Bulldog Stadium,” Bartko said. “Working with long-term partner Learfield Sports and an industry leader in ANC Sports, we know the north end zone enhancement will be the first of many upgrades to the stadium.”

ANC LogoThe north end zone video screen from ANC, a Learfield company, will measure 24 feet high and 66 feet wide for more than 1,596 square feet of active signage. The new video screen will be more than double the size of the current display that has been up in Bulldog Stadium since 2006. The main video screen will be complemented by a new 104-foot LED ribbon board, which will sit underneath the scoreboard and be approximately three times as long as the existing signage strip.

“Bulldog Stadium has a fantastic college football atmosphere and the new video board will really enhance the gameday atmosphere for both our team and the Red Wave,” head coach Tim DeRuyter said. “I know when we go down the tunnel before games, run out on to the field and see that new video board it is going to fire up not only our team but the entire Red Wave. I am really excited for this as well as the future enhancements taking place in Bulldog Stadium.”

Both displays will be driven by ANC’s award-winning vSOFT™ control system, enabling the displays to feature content separately or to synchronize together. Powered by vSOFT, the displays will segment into different layouts to provide game action, statistical information, out-of-town scores, University branding, interactive crowd animations, and sponsor acknowledgements.

“We look forward to bringing the latest display technologies to Fresno State to create an emotional game day atmosphere”, said Jerry Cifarelli, president and chief executive officer of ANC Sports. “No game will feel the same as our onsite staff and graphic artists will work with Fresno State and Learfield Sports to customize dynamic presentations for all events at Bulldog Stadium.”

Through a multi-year partnership, ANC will service, operate and create the content for the display system for Fresno State. Bulldog Stadium joins other college football stadiums such as Penn State’s Beaver Stadium and Florida’s Citrus Bowl that utilize ANC’s ongoing post-installation services to enhance the game day atmosphere.Fresno_property-logo-image

The projects will begin this month, with removal of the old scoreboard on the north end zone expected to start on June 29. ANC Sports is engineering and manufacturing the components of the boards off site and will begin erecting the new board in July.
