ORONO, MAINE – University of Maine Athletics and its multimedia rights partner, Black Bear Sports Properties, have released seven dates for the 2014-15 hockey local television schedule. These select games will air live on WVII/WFVX (Bangor), FOX College Sports and the newest UMaine Athletics affiliate, WPME (Portland).

“We are excited to be entering another hockey season with our returning television partners in WVII and Fox College Sports,” said University of Maine Director of Athletics Karlton Creech. “And we’re thrilled to welcome aboard our newest partner WPME in the greater Portland market. Adding them to our lineup really extends the statewide coverage for our hockey program. This lineup of games will showcase our student-athletes against some of our historical rivals as well as our newest Hockey East members.”

Opening night of the UMaine hockey season will be broadcast live when the Black Bears take on the defending National Champions from Union on October 17. Television coverage will extend throughout the entire season, with all broadcasts airing in Eastern Time. The full slate of broadcasts includes:

Friday, October 17 vs. Union, 7:30 p.m.
Friday, November 14 vs. Boston University, 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, November 29 vs. University of Vermont, 7 p.m.
Sunday, January 18 vs. Boston College, 3 p.m.
Friday, January 30 vs. University of Connecticut, 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, February 7 vs. University of Notre Dame, 7 p.m.
Friday, February 20 vs. Northeastern University, 7:30 p.m.
