BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Learfield Sports named Jerry Harbin manager of business development for its local entity, Indiana University Sports Properties, IU Athletics’ multimedia rights holder. Harbin, an IU alum, joins the collegiate multimedia rights leader this week in its Indianapolis office, following an 11-year stint with the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts.

Harbin, a sports sponsorship and media sales veteran, served with the Colts since 2003, most recently as director of team partnerships. For his alma mater, he will be working alongside IU Sports Properties’ General Manager Matt Bauschek in building new and existing corporate relationships in support of the Hoosiers. The Learfield Sports’ property works closely with IU athletics administration to oversee all aspects of the rights agreement, including radio, television, hospitality, digital and corporate partner platform.

Harbin_Jerry_004Prior to his tenure with the Colts, Harbin served as director of sales for Tribune Broadcasting, at Indianapolis television stations WXIN FOX 59 and WTTV CW 4. Before that, he was general sales manager for WNDY-TV in Indianapolis and was in sales for WTHR-TV. In the Indianapolis community, Harbin has served five years on the Board of Directors for both Family Service and Coburn Place respectively.

“Jerry is a proven professional who has significant ties to this market and a strong background in sports marketing and media sales – an invaluable combination as we continue to boost visibility for the Hoosiers’ brand,” said Learfield Sports’ Senior Vice President Bob Agramonte.

Indiana University Sports Properties is a property of Learfield Sports, which manages the exclusive multimedia rights to 99 collegiate properties in the country, including the Big Ten Conference.
