Multi-university partnership is one of the largest in state history

OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA. – Representing Oklahoma’s three largest universities, Learfield Sports has reached a five-year sponsorship agreement with TEEMCO, an Oklahoma City based professional environmental engineering firm. The new partnership between TEEMCO, the University of Oklahoma, University of Tulsa, and Oklahoma State University will start in the 2014-2015 season. Details of financial terms were not disclosed.

“Reaching out to the university communities in Oklahoma is very important,” said Greg Lorson, CEO of TEEMCO. “This sponsorship will enable people to learn about the role of environmental engineering in the oil and gas industry. Because of the high visibility of Oklahoma college sports in the state and across the nation, we think this is a great way to showcase some of the achievements in our industry. We hope this partnership will inspire more students to pursue energy related degrees.”

During the past three years, TEEMCO has maintained a 200-percent annual growth rate, leading it to become the nation’s largest environmental engineering firm in the oil and gas industry.

“More and more aspects of oil & gas operations are governed by environmental regulations. The industry needs a workforce equipped to deal with a changing culture, a culture of energy independence with environmental sustainability,” explained Lorson.

The multi-university agreement includes receiving significant signage at football and basketball games. Additionally, TEEMCO has committed to developing a scholarship program and internship opportunities for engineering and energy majors. “We have some exciting things in the works for the universities and the industry, which will be announced in the upcoming months,” added Lorson.

“We’re pleased to have had the opportunity to work closely with TEEMCO to craft something that supports their corporate and social responsibility objectives,” said Tim Cline, Senior Vice President of Learfield Sports. “We believe they’ll very quickly see the significant value and reach of passionate collegiate sports platforms, and are ready to begin building on what we know will be a great relationship. We believe this agreement is uniquely Oklahoman and is a win-win for TEEMCO and the universities.”

“This partnership is more than just TEEMCO’s name at football and basketball games,” Lorson continued. “We see TEEMCO, OU, TU, and OSU as beginning an integral, long-term partnership focusing on energy and the environment.”
