Coca-Cola, Area Restaurants Providing Discount to Fans in Branded Apparel

RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State Athletics and Coca-Cola Bottling Company Consolidated announced today the launch of “Red Fridays” – a brand-new program for Wolfpack fans providing an unprecedented way to earn 10 percent off their food order at more than 20 area participating restaurants.

“Red Fridays” officially kicks off this Friday, January 17 at a total of 36 restaurant locations in the greater Triangle area, including Raleigh, Cary, Garner, Morrisville, Wake Forest and Clayton. The “Red Fridays” exclusive offer extends through Friday, May 30, 2014 and awards any Wolfpack fan wearing branded apparel the 10 percent discount each and every Friday over the next several months. Fans can visit www.gopack.com/redfridays via NC State’s official athletic website to see a comprehensive list of all participating restaurants.

“Wolfpack Nation includes large numbers of incredibly proud and extremely loyal fans in the Raleigh area, and we are excited the ‘Red Fridays’ program will show appreciation for their visible support of the Pack,” said Chris Boyer, NC State Senior Associate Athletics Director for External Operations. “Coca-Cola has long been associated with the NC State brand, and we are pleased to partner with them on this initiative to reward our passionate Wolfpack fans, while also encouraging everyone to wear red.”

“Who doesn’t look forward to Fridays? We love the idea of incorporating Wolfpack red and Coca-Cola red with ‘Red Fridays’ and giving back to fans in a unique way,” said Shannon Voorhees, Marketing, Sponsorship & Activation Manager for Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated. “Coca-Cola has a rich tradition of aligning with NC State, and we felt this was a program that just made sense for us, to be able to connect fans with great local businesses through the rest of the school year.”

The “Red Fridays” initiative will be jointly managed by the NC State Trademark Licensing Office and Wolfpack Sports Properties, the Raleigh-based joint venture of Learfield Sports and Capitol Broadcasting Company that develops corporate partnerships and manages the operations of NC State’s comprehensive rights program including signage, event marketing, radio play-by-play and coaches’ shows, television coaches’ shows and official athletic web site sponsorships.
