College of Agricultural and Life Science Presents Unique Gameday Experience

MOSCOW, Idaho – University of Idaho Athletics and its multimedia rights partner, Learfield Sports’ Idaho Vandals Sports Properties, will host “Celebrating Idaho Agriculture Day” in conjunction with this Saturday’s 2 p.m. home football game against Fresno State. All related activities are presented by Idaho’s College of Agricultural and Life Sciences and numerous athletic corporate partners.

Prior to kick, fans will not want to miss the Vandals’ pre-game festival on the Kibbie Dome Lawn/North Field featuring inflatables such as a bungee run, giant slide and bounce house. Additionally, there will be a petting farm, food samples from Idaho companies, growers and producers showcasing Idaho products, as well as various tractors and farm equipment. Sponsors providing significant support for the event are Famous Idaho Potatoes, United Dairymen of Idaho and Pacific Northwest Farmers Cooperative (cornerstone partners), as well as Idaho Preferred, ConAgra, Crop Production Services, St. John Hardware and Falls Brand (affiliate partners). The media sponsor is Bull Country 99.5 FM.

“We want to celebrate agriculture as Idaho’s largest industry and one that brings together families, communities and businesses in many ways,” said College of Agricultural and Life Sciences Dean John Foltz.

Complementing the pre-game festival will be a barbecue lunch hosted by the University of Idaho for students, alumni and fans featuring Idaho beef, barley and potatoes. The cost is $12 per person and no reservations are needed. Lunch will be served beginning at 11 a.m.

“This will be a terrific gameday event to cap off a week of activities by the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences,” said Ann Brett Strickland, general manager for Learfield Sports’ Idaho Vandals Sports Properties. “There will be something for everyone at the pre-game festival, and the entire day is dedicated to paying tribute to the diversity and value of agriculture in the state of Idaho, region and world. It’s going to be great!”
