COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Aggie sports return to Amarillo radio beginning in August due to a three-year agreement between Tejas Broadcasting and Texas A&M Sports Properties, a property of Learfield Sports and the exclusive multimedia rights holder for Texas A&M University Athletics.

Effective this 2013-14 athletic season and beginning with football, KTNZ-AM 1010 will carry all Texas A&M football and men’s basketball games, as well as select women’s basketball and baseball games. Additionally, the Tejas Broadcasting-owned ESPN affiliate will broadcast the one-hour football and men’s basketball coaches’ shows and the yearlong Aggie Daily Show.

The addition of KTNZ to the Texas A&M Sports Network marks the Aggies’ first return to the Amarillo market since the 2009-10 athletic season. Tejas Broadcasting owns and operates stations in Amarillo, Corpus Christi, and Clovis, N.M.

“We are very excited to partner with Texas A&M and bring some of the university’s sports programs and live game coverage to 1010 AM Amarillo,” said Dan Gorman, general sales manager for Tejas Broadcasting. “It’s going to be an exciting year, and we’re glad to be a part of it!”

“Undoubtedly, Aggie fans and alumni living in the Amarillo area will love have Texas A&M sports back on the airwaves, and we’re pleased to get a deal in place prior to football,” said Texas A&M Sports Properties’ General Manager Eric Buchanan.
