STARKVILLE, Miss. — Fans have an opportunity to own one of a limited number of “Boston tribute” baseball hats worn by Mississippi State’s Diamond Dogs in their nationally-televised Thursday night baseball game with Auburn.

In a joint venture of the MSU Athletic Department, Bulldog Sports Properties, a property of Learfield Sports and the multimedia rights holder for Mississippi State athletics, and NeuLion, 24 game-worn maroon hats with a distinguished “B” insignia embroidered on it are up for public auction on the MSU athletics web site (www.HailState.com). The maroon “flex-fit” hats produced by adidas were worn by Mississippi State during the MSU-Auburn game televised by ESPNU.

“It’s a small gesture on our part and a huge gesture and effort on the part of adidas to make it happen in a very short period of time,” said Mississippi State head baseball coach John Cohen.

The online bidding process has begun and will conclude at 5 p.m. (CT) Friday, April 26.  **All proceeds from the auction will go to One Fund Boston, established to raise money for the victims and their families impacted by the April 15 Boston Marathon bomb attack.
