Texas Tech TV now available on FOX, TexasTech.TV and through mobile applications

LUBBOCK, Texas – Red Raider fans all over the world will have greater access to Texas Tech Athletics programming than ever before with the launch of Texas Tech TV on FOX Sports and through the new digital platform TexasTech.TV.  Learfield Sports, Texas Tech Athletics’ multimedia rights holder, secured the new Texas Tech TV on FOX Sports platform on behalf of the University.

Texas Tech TV is the new worldwide identity for both live and on-demand video content for Texas Tech Athletics.  Texas Tech TV debuts today on the digital platform TexasTech.TV as well as newly designed mobile applications for Apple and Android.  Texas Tech TV made its official debut over the air on Oct. 17 on FOX College Sports, when the Texas Tech women’s volleyball team took on the Oklahoma Sooners at the United Spirit Arena.

“This is an exciting day as we unveil Texas Tech TV,” Director of Athletics Kirby Hocutt said.  “Texas Tech fans are craving more television and digital content and we are thrilled to officially roll out this exciting new product.”

Texas Tech TV will provide access to live sporting events, live non-sporting events (e.g. coaches shows, press conferences, signing day specials), on-demand video and full-length television shows Raider Power and Red Raider Weekly.  This new content will be available in your home or office through TexasTech.TV while live sporting events and on-demand content will be available on both Apple and Android mobile devices.

Texas Tech TV can also be seen on FOX as Texas Tech recently announced a three-year deal with FOX Sports Southwest.  Terms of that agreement call for one football game to be televised annually on a FOX Sports platform, which could include FOX Sports Southwest, FOX Sports Southwest Plus and FOX College Sports. FOX Sports platforms will also televise all available men’s basketball games, up to 20 Olympic sports (including women’s basketball games), and additional Texas Tech non-game programming mutually selected by FOX Sports and Texas Tech. FOX Sports intends to distribute all of the FOX-selected games nationally (which may include FOX College Sports).  This season, Texas Tech’s Red Raider Weekly and Raider Power are scheduled to air on FOX Sports Southwest and FOX College Sports respectively. Both are 30-minute sports magazine shows.

With a new and improved Big 12 Conference television package, Texas Tech’s new television agreement with FOX Sports Southwest and the availability of Texas Tech TV online and through mobile applications, Tech fans will have unprecedented access to Red Raider sports.  All of Texas Tech’s home games/matches will be carried either on television or online through TexasTech.TV.

The majority of content on Texas Tech TV will be provided free of charge, however, a subscription will be required for the majority of live events.  Two separate pricing models are available for fans that wish to view Texas Tech TV on their desktop or for those who prefer the content delivered to their mobile devices via mobile applications.  Fans that wish to receive the content on both their desktop computers and on their mobile devices will have to purchase both subscriptions.

A Texas Tech TV subscription runs $9.95 per month or $79.95 for an entire year.  Access to live game video on an iPhone, iPad or Android application is priced at $4.95 per month or $19.95 for the year.  Fans that prefer to watch the content on TexasTech.TV on their iPhone, iPad or Android device through a web browser will need to purchase the subscriptions priced at $9.95 per month and $79.95 for the year.

The subscription service remains a product of Texas Tech’s All-Access platform through CBSSports.com College Network so current subscribers will have immediate access to Texas Tech TV on their desktops, by web browser on their iPhone, iPad or Android devices and mobile applications.
