University Park, Pa. (Aug. 20, 2010) – UnitedHealthcare and Learfield Sports’ Penn State Sports Properties are teaming up again for the second annual “All Star of the Game” to recognize Penn State Nittany Lions fans who are working to improve their own health or the health of others in their family, community or workplace.

Beginning with the Nittany Lions first football game of the 2010-2011 season Sept. 4, and each week throughout the season, UnitedHealthcare will select the Nittany Lions’ fan whose story best demonstrates how he/she is working on improving their own health or the health of others around them. Nittany Lions fans can go to www.uhctogether.com/psuallstar to submit their stories.

Each “All Star of the Game” winner will receive a $100 gift certificate for Lions Pride, a Penn State merchandise store. In addition, the winner will be announced on the radio during the UnitedHealthcare Tailgate Show, which airs on the Penn State Sports Network. Each weekly winner will have a chance to win the grand prize of four tickets and tailgate passes to the Michigan State game Nov. 27 and a $200 grand-prize gift certificate for Lions Pride.

“All of us at UnitedHealthcare were inspired by the stories submitted during last year’s All Star of the Game promotion,” said Sue Schick, CEO, UnitedHealthcare of Pennsylvania. “In fact, one story was particularly touching from a woman who founded a foundation to raise research funding for Methylmalonic Acidemia (MMA) after her nephew died from the disease and a niece was diagnosed with MMA. As a company whose mission it is to help people live healthy lives, we’re proud to recognize people for sharing these important stories.”

“We’re pleased to see UnitedHealthcare embrace the ‘All Star of the Game’ campaign again as it was highly successful and very well received last year,” said John Tull, business development manager for Penn State Sports Properties. “We appreciate their level of involvement and commitment to our fans.”
